I have narrowed it down to 2 choices…
The Tetra Whisper 40i or Zoo Med Turtle Clean 318?
It will be going in a 29 gal tank (with only about 7 inches of water) with some fake plants, gravel, one 5 inch male RES, and possibly some fish (which will eventually be eaten)
Which do you think would be better?
The one thing I really like about both of them is that they are in-tank filters, no need to hang over the edge.

I do not want to pay a lot… that is another reason why I like these 2. They are both less than and the tetra filter uses the same filter pads as one of my other filters.

i have metal halides on my tank and i need a cover for my tank so my fish won’t jump out. what should i use? i need something that can with stand a lot of heat. and that light can penetrate through. any advice will be greatly appreciated

Im looking to set up my first tropical aquarium, and I like the look of a mini pentagon aquarium (46×42x42cm, 39L). I would just like someone to explain what I need as essentials, the type and amount of fish I should have as a starter, and whether it will be easy to keep.
-1 Male Betta
-8 Cherry Shrimp
-2 African Frogs
-5 Cory cats
-6 to 8 White Cloud Mountain Minnows
This is for a 20 gallon tank.
Do you think this would be overstocked?
I know the shrimp will most likely be picked off once in a while, but I’ll have lots of plants and hiding places. Do you think they’ll be able to survive or should I not even bother?
I’m planning on going with tan/white sand and fake silk plants(a lot), would that be okay for everyone?
Also, I was thinking of possibly adding a few loaches. I did some research on the species and the Khuli loach sounds like the best fit. I would need atleast three since they like company, would the tank be overstocked then?
Are all these easy to find and not crazy-expensive? Is it safe to order live fish online if I can’t find them?
Lastly, what food would I need to feed all of them?
Any other advice/suggestions?

When it comes time to do a water change in my 3 gallon tank, what percent should I do? Also what do I need to do with my fish while I am doing a water change? If i put them in a different tank, how do I keep them warm, and then when I put them back how do I make sure they do not get shock from different temperatures?
I probably sound clueless, but I a really am, and I want to do everything right this time, I am sick of my fish dying!

i’m not new in the world of fishkeeping, i have freshwater aquascape to proof it, and now i also want to keep marine aquarium as well.
since i’m new in this, what would be the basic essentials?
are the equipments the same?
can i keep seaweeds as well cuz its kinda boring just keeping live rocks and anemonies.
what fish and invertebrates are reef safe, easy, peaceful, and stays small?
do you make your own saltwater and how?

I’ve never had a saltwater tank before and I have recently been reading about it, and I may go ahead and do it. I’m still unsure on some things though: I have not yet bought a tank or anything, so I would like someone to recommend me a size and what types of equipment to get before I begin. I’d also like someone, if they can, to tell me what sorts of fish I should start with (if you know or if it matters) and what size tank they might need at a minimum.
Also, should I begin with fish only, or should I go ahead and try to use live rock etc.?
I recently just got a Half Moon Male betta fish and I have it in a hanging bowl on my wall. All it does is sit at the top. It never swims around and barely even moves. When i tap on the bowl it moves its fins a little but thats about it. The water feels pretty cold, what temperature should it be? How often do you feed it and how many times a week should i change the water?
so, i’m going to re set my tank, since its been infested with hair algae.
currently i have platies (population uncountable since they bred too fast), 4 zebra danios, 2 black neons, and 7 red cherry shrimps.
i’ll fix the filter system, give away some of the platies, and relocate my tank into an area where it doesn’t get too much sunlight…
also, i want to "recruit" new fish allies, a pair of siamensis to eat any hair algae left, and 4/5 kuhli loaches to take part in bottom feeding, some otocinclus, and some cardinal shrimps (caridinia sp. cardinal) as well. my tank’s like 100cmx50cmx50cm, so i hope i don’t overcrowd… it’s planted tank btw…
what i’m worried is:
1. since siamensis grew big like 15 cm, will they be bullying the tiny shrimps? i’m only getting 2 siamensis
2. i heard kuhli loaches like to dig and swim everywhere, even into the filter, is there any way to prevent them in this kind of danger?
3. otocinclus, does anyone know a good way to help them adapt to their new tank so that there will be less deaths? X_X
